Hey Hey!! Like I’m sure you are, we are in the thick of Christmas season! Baking isn’t something I just LOVE doing all year but in the month of December it is a MUST for me and my family. We love yummy treats but the time spent together in the kitchen is my favorite part. My kiddos are 13, 11 and 6 so they are used to helping out in the kitchen but I like to make things pretty easy for them so they can have a sense of accomplishment. Nestle Tollhouse plays a BIG part in that!
One of our Advent activities this week was to do something nice for our elderly neighbor, Mr. Jim. He’s just the sweetest man and there’s nothing like hand delivering sweet treats around the holidays. We decided to make him these White Chip Brownie Peanut Butter Cups. They were easy enough for my kiddos to do alone but I did help (and take pictures) along the way!
These Nestle Tollhouse Cookie Dough Bars are so darn easy to work with. They come perfectly portioned so all you have to do is pull each one apart. We put each White Chip Brownie square into a mini muffin pan and smooshed it down a little. Baked for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. When we pulled them out we let them cool for about 5 minutes before sticking a peanut butter cup into the center. They will melt a little and become soooo delicious you will want to eat all of them!
Do you have any baking traditions in your house? What I’ve learned over the years is it doesn’t have to be complicated and master chef expert level to be enjoyable. Let it be semi-homemade and enjoy time with your family while sharing the Holiday spirit. As a child my grandmother always baked and made candy around the holidays. I like carrying on that tradition but also making life a little easier along the way. Thank goodness for Nestle Tollhouse shortcuts! Here’s the recipe for these delicious sweet treats!
Nestle Tollhouse White Chip Brownie Peanut Butter Cups
1 pkg. Nestle Tollhouse White Chip Brownie Cookie Dough Bar
25 individually wrapped peanut butter cups
1 mini muffin pan
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Pull the Nestle Tollhouse Cookie Dough squares apart and place each one in a mini muffin tin. Use your finger to smoosh them down a tad, this creates a little well after baking for your candy to sit in.
Bake for 15 minutes then remove from oven and let cool about 5 minutes. Then place unwrapped peanut butter cups into the center of each brownie. Let cool another 10 minutes and remove brownie cups from the mini muffin tin.
Put on a pretty place and share with your friends, family or sweet elderly neighbors!
