Sometimes the things we use the most in our home get neglected and forgotten about. This was the case with my 14 year old’s mattress. As 14 year olds tend to be kind of territorial (Ha!) her room generally is off limits to my DIY and Decorating efforts. She had a twin sized bed that she loved but that was over 5 years old. Definitely time for an upgrade. So when Tuft & Needle reached out to me asking if I’d like to try out their full size mattress I was pretty excited!
She also needed a new box spring, so we bought one of those too. Tuft & Needle mattresses can be used with, or without a box spring foundation though. This mattress comes in one little box. And it is delivered (FOR FREE!) right to your door. No shopping for hours looking for the perfect one in your budget. Understand, Tuft & Needle sells ONE type of mattress is six different sizes. They’ve perfected this foam mattress to be comfortable for almost every body type and every “firmness” preference. It really is amazing science that went into developing this mattress. And it’s a good thing considering we spend so much time in our beds!
So the little box arrived and I was super excited to open it. Joel (my hubby) and I brought it upstairs to our teenager’s bedroom, unboxed it. Then you lay it on the bed while it’s still all rolled up and compressed. My son described it as looking like a sushi roll, heehee!
You cut the outer layer of plastic off, unroll it, then cut the final plastic wrapping off and like magic the mattress puffs up into a real bed! It’s kind of amazing. I tried to capture this on video but failed gloriously. Sorry y’all.
This post certainly isn’t the story of a beautiful room. In real life fashion, I have 47 different projects going on at once and I’m just not ready to tackle a cranky 14 year old girl’s bedroom. But maybe by Winter time this year you’ll see her room make another appearance on the blog. But then again, maybe not. But at the very least she has an amazing mattress that I got to share with you. If you’re in the market for your own you really can’t go wrong with a Tuft & Needle!
I’m so intrigued by those mattresses! I’m dying for a new mattress for our bed and these are high on my list of possibilities – I’ve heard so many great things about them!
Lucky girl! I’ve heard so much praise for Tuft & Needle mattresses. Can’t wait to hear what she thinks.
