Hey Hey! Summer break is coming to a close for me and the kiddos. Like most Moms, I have some mixed emotions about this. I love spending time with them at home. Very low key or fun days. But I also crave a schedule and routine. They won’t admit it but I think the kids crave the same thing. This year I have a brand new High School Freshman. Can you even believe it?! I. Can’t. Even. She’s 14 and ready to conquer the world!
To get her super pumped about school and how awesome she is going to be at this whole high school thing, we made a couple inspirational art prints together. We thought it’d be nice to have them as a reminder when the days get long and the tests (and let’s be honest….the drama) get closer and closer together. We created them in Canva then used this HP Deskjet 3636 All-In-One-Printer to print them out on grey card stock.
Canva really makes creating printables super easy! They have amazing fonts, shapes, pre-made templates and lots more. I went in and created a blank 8.5×10 (Letter size to make it easy to print on a home printer) added shapes then the text we wanted her to have. You can move the images around where ever you want to make it look exactly like you need it to.
This printer is so fun! We already have one downstairs in our office so I thought this one would be perfect for her to have in her bedroom and for under $50 its really a steal! She has a little desk set up for homework so we sat it on a shelf inside there and it fit perfectly! It’s compact and she picked out her favorite color, purple. It’s also available in red and blue. The artwork printed beautifully from this HP printer. The ink didn’t smudge and is high quality.
After they were printed I had to trim the edges a bit then I put the prints in 8×10 frames also from Walmart. I simply used 2 finishing nails and a level in the wall to hang 2 prints. My teenager decided she wanted two of the prints sitting on the desk so we didn’t hang those.
The printer install was a cinch. We just opened it all up and plugged the power cord in. We then used my cell phone to connect it to our WiFi. You download a single app on your phone or tablet and follow the prompts, it took about 2 minutes to do. This printer is really user friendly, affordable and reliable. The prints look great!
This is a new printer on the market and only available at Walmart. There are so many back to school uses for printers. My kiddos use them weekly for school projects, writing assignments and as you can see they are great for fun decorating reasons too!
