Good Morning Houseologie readers! I’m Tara – the girl behind Anything & Everything where I share DIY projects, crafts, recipes, to anything in-between! I was ecstatic when Leigh Anne asked me to guest post for her today, as I love her style as well as her creative mind!
Today I am sharing a super quick and easy way to make some party/patio lights using mini red cups! Yes, MINI red cups I said! When I stumbled upon these cute little guys at Walmart, I started to hum a little tune in my head “Red Solo Cup, I’ll fill you up, let’s have a party!” A little Toby Keith song. For those of you unfamiliar, Google it! It’s a catchy little tune that will have you putting on your dancing shoes! Anyways back to the project at hand, at $1.97 (I think) for a pack of 20, I snatched them up knowing I would be able to create something fun out of them.
With summer, holidays, and outdoor gatherings right around the corner, I decided to turn them into fun outdoor party lights! Memorial Day and the 4th of July will be creeping up on us soon, so I decided it would be fun to give them a patriotic feel. Here is how my DIY Patriotic Party Lights came together!
DIY Patriotic Party Lights
- 1 pack of 20 mini red solo cups
- Acrylic paint or chalk paint in colors white and blue (I am a fan of using what you have on hand)
- Drill
- Paint brush
- Painters tape
- String light
Would be cute as candy corn for Halloween too!
Such a cute idea! It is amazing what you can do with a solo cup! 😉 Found you at Think & Make Thursday Link up!
Tara is so creative! Glad you enjoyed the post!!
So fun! What a perfect decor idea for all those summer backyard shindigs 🙂
Hi, Tara
Do you use waterproof color with this led string light? I mean, is this possible to use this on rainy weather?
