Hey y’all! Hope you had a fantastic weekend. I worked on lots of projects, good things are coming. I just love a productive weekend. Sometimes that feels better than a relaxing, lazy weekend. I know, I’m weird.
Today I want to show you the finished Moroccan side table I gave you a before shot of last week. Remember it looked like this:
Now it looks like this:
I thought it was beautiful before I did anything to it. Now I think it’s just a show stopper π To be honest though, it’s not the vision I had in my head for this piece. I’m not sure where it went wrong but I thought my “driftwood” finish from Rustoleum would be quite a bit darker on top. It wasn’t so I changed course and painted the bottom black instead of the white I was initially going to go with. Happy accidents π
I sanded, sanded and sanded some more on this piece. I even used citristrip before sanding. It worked on top but on the inside of the legs it just wasn’t taking the old. gunky varnish off. So, me and my Skil sander got really friendly and got it done. I stained the inside of the legs the same driftwood color as the top then added a nail head at the top of each little carved detail. I think it adds some glam. We all need a little glam, don’t you agree?
I have my planner, a few writing utensils and all of my shelter magazines inside. And see those curtains in the background? The high water ones? They’re dropcloth and they will soon be getting painted! The table we did have here covered their too short selves LOL! The living room is getting a little makeover so I’ve got a lot to share over the next few weeks.
Very cute! Love the little nail head accents π
Thanks Breanna!
SUPER cute! I’ve been meaning to try that driftwood stain (I actually had to order it from the States as it’s not available in Canada!). The nail head detail is the perfect finishing touch!
Thanks Kristi! I love this stain, can’t wait to see what you do with it!
I love it! The shape is just stunning and I love how you styled it. I hate when projects don’t go as planned, but yours turned out great!
Thanks Sarah!
It looks great!
Thanks!
So beautiful! Perfectly styled and I actually love that the bottom is black instead of white – makes for more visual drama! I have a habit of wanting to paint everything white so it’s really cool to see something with a dark finish look amazing. I’m Inspired!
Thanks Erica! In the end I like how it turned out. My love affair with black continues π
Stun.ning!!!!!! I love how this turned out! Pinning.

Leigh Ann, this turned out awesome! I love the black with the paler wood accents! Great job! π
That is gorgeous, Leigh Anne! And I do so love happy accidents!
