Hey y’all!!
So glad to be sharing with you again today! It’s Monthly DIY Challenge Day, which if you’ve been around for a little while you know this is the one day of the month that myself and a group of my friends get together to share a DIY project. This months theme/item we were to use was PAINT. I know, wide range of possibilities. Some might even say ENDLESS! Be sure to check out all of their projects down below.
I decided to makeover these TERRIBLY UGLY yard sale lamps I found. So bad. Funny thing is that white part with what looks like a textured finish on it? That was just dirt and grime. So nasty. Unfortunately it was a cream color instead of true white so I still had to spray paint that section.
I decided to go with a black + white + gold color scheme. You know I heart it so hard! I taped off the cord and the electrical stuff and sprayed the entire thing with primer. Unfortunately, it didn’t stick very well because as soon as I started taping off the sections to paint their individual colors, my primer started peeling off. Oooops! So I sanded down those spots and just left them alone and started spray painting without the primer.
Thankfully I crossed my fingers and toes hard enough and so far no painting is sloughing off but my tape did leave impressions on the gold paint. Trying to decide if I can live with that or if I’m going to re-do it. Real life, y’all!!
Here’s how they turned out!
If this isn’t a testament to the power of paint then I don’t know what is!! Holy moly lamp makeover. I kinda love it if you can’t tell. I’ve got one sitting in my living room on my Moroccan side table but I might move it, who knows? Things have to be nailed down around here for me to not move them around!
Here are all of the other #monthlydiychallenge posts from my awesome bloggy friends. Be sure to check out what they all did with PAINT!

Oh, I think the lamp looks great! Good for you for persevering! Sometimes I get so frustrated with spray paint – I almost never get a good result. But these are lovely!
Thanks for the encouragement Bre!! I’m not a perfectionist, so I’ll probably leave them as is.
Totally worth all the trouble, these turned out so chic and pretty!!
