Hey Hey! I’m not a big Halloween decorator. I know *GASP!* I just prefer general Fall decor to the creepy, spooky, scary Halloween stuff. If you follow me on Instagram (…and if you haven’t followed me already you can do that HERE) you probably saw a little sneak peek of the mice on my stairs. I decided to jazz those adorable little mice up a little bit by adding Gold + White Bow Ties and Hair Bows. I can’t even with the cuteness!!
The mice are cut outs by Martha Stewart that I bought at Michael’s.
I just used some gold foil cardstock I had on hand from Michael’s to make the little bows. I’ve used this little packet A LOT. It was completely worth the $5 I paid for it!
I placed my two, extra tall lanterns on the stairs and added some random fall gourds I bought at Aldi’s (<—LOVE this store, especially in the Fall!!).
Next I used a Gold Sharpie to write “Hey Y’all!” on a black faux pumpkin from Michael’s. So, a little bit about saying “y’all”. I was born and raised in Louisiana. I like to y’all but it feels really weird TYPING y’all. Just thought I’d point that out.
To get the lettering to look nice and neat, I went into PicMonkey, created my text and printed it. Then I taped it to the pumpkin and used a dull pencil to trace the lettering. This made an indention on the soft pumpkin (you can see the indented lettering on the picture below) and I traced the lines then filled in the letters. Super easy, took less than 10 minutes from start to painted finish.
I can see these little mice staying on my stairs through New Year’s! I mean Christmas Mice. right? And then they are dressed for a New Year’s Eve party! My mice are so fancy, you already know 😉
So there you have, my non-spooky, but super cute Halloween Stairs!
Have you decorated for Halloween at all? Do you prefer scary decorations?
Those little mice are so cute! And I love how you added the bow ties 🙂 Such a fun little stairway!
Thank You Breanna!
Those are the cutest stairs EVER! That kit is so made for your stairway… it’s so lovely!
Thank you Donna! I’ve grown quite fond of these adorable little mice!
I used these mice for decorating a few years ago. Unfortunately, my stairs are carpeted so I had to place them elsewhere. Yours look great on the stairs! I’m basically a fall decorator myself, but with three kids you gotta decorate for Halloween!

Yes, kids love the Halloween decor! Mine don’t seem to care too much though 🙂
I love these and you have the perfect stairs for them. I love the bows on your mice. TOO CUTE!
Thank You so much!
Love those cute little mice, and these adorable stairs!
Thanks for stopping by Dusty!
How fun! that pumpkin is so cute! Love your blog’s new style…it looks really great! Did you do it all yourself?
Thanks Deonna! Yes, I did it all myself! It still needs some tweaking but for a free WP theme and $0, not too shabby 😉
SO, SO much fun Leigh Anne!!! LOVE that pumpkin too!!!
Oh my gosh, how cute!! I would have never thought to put little bows on them. I love your painted pumpkin and the lanterns are so gorgeous! I have total stair envy. I’ll just be over here staring at and drooling over them for a few minutes. (sigh)
Oh my gosh I LOVE those little mice! You absolutely MUST give them little accessories for Christmas and New Year’s. What party mice! And that black pumpkin is absolutely fab. I basically love everything about this!
Thanks Erica!!
I totally wish I had wooden stairs EVERY Halloween! Loving your cute little mice!!! And featuring you tomorrow. XO, Aimee – ItsOverflowing.com
Love these little mice! You are being featured tomorrow at Your Designs This Time! Thanks for link up with us!

I love these, I want to take the carpet up on the stairs just so I can have them, although they would look great on the skirting board and that wouldn’t be quite so drastic! I think they should stay all year round, they could be themed for the season! Scarves and hats after Christmas, flowers in the spring, cold drinks with straws in summer – ok I may just be getting a bit carried away now!
I was thinking the same thing with all of the seasons. Unfortunately with all of the foot traffic our stairs get a lot of the sticky things on the back are not holding up 🙁
