Hey Hey! We are in full swing fall around here. The leaves are changing and I’m scheduling visits to a local farm for Pumpkin picking and hay rides. I really enjoy spending time outside in the Fall. This past week the weather was no nice I went out and decorated a little.
In my house I really prefer neutrals and contrast, like Black and White, with woods and gold accents. But outside this year I decided to go a little COLOR BOLD. I’m pretty excited about it. My front porch needs a lot of work. For one, there are no chairs. I am having the HARDEST time finding chairs in my budget that I actually like enough to have on the front porch. Also, I want to paint our front door, so I didn’t even show it in these pics. But, SOON!
Also, the front of our house is a little different. We have TWO entrances on our front porch. The main door and then the door you see the ladder leaned against in these pics. This door leads to a Bedroom/Office and we NEVER, EVER use it. Which is why I don’t mind sitting pretties in front of it. It’ll deter the new mail man from knocking on it π
Remember the Wood Sunburst Wreath I made? I decided to hang it in a less traditional way. I hung it front the $5 DIY Blanket Ladder I showed you guys how to make back in the Summer. I finally spray painted it, and like I said, I went BOLD. It’s Sun Yellow! I just sprayed 2 light coats on so that the wood grain would still show through.
I also built a planter for that big Mum you see. I will be sharing how I did that later in the week π
I used Spray Chalkboard Paint to spray the chalkboard you see. That’s a wood TV tray! I just put some newspaper over the legs and sprayed the top part, then primed it with chalk and started drawing. It makes me happy.
I threw a few vases down, added one Pumpkin (more of those to come, I promise!) and a few potted Mums. I threw a big piece of Burlap I bought at a yard sale for $2 over the blanket ladder for a little more texture and the lantern hanging on the door knob is an old Target Dollar Spot Find.
This was super easy to throw together but I had a lot of fun doing it. Do you decorate for Fall? Change your porch for the seasons? This is only our 2nd year in this house, so it’s my first time decorating for fall. There are definitely cheesy scarecrows, hay bales and cornstalks in my future. That’s just how I’m rolling this year, and I LOVE it!
Very pretty! I love your wreath and your planter box~tres chic, dahling π
