Hey Hey! Hope your week is going well! I’m currently soaking up the sun on the beach with my fam. I know you’re jealous 😉 Today my friend Corinna from For My Love Of is sharing a super cute DIY with you. I know you’re gonna love it!!

Hello There! My name is Corinna, blogger behind For My Love Of, and I’m filling in for Leigh Anne today! I love the look of metallic elements mixed with natural and colorful elements. To add a bit of inexpensive bling to our seating, I created this fun Sequin Embellished Accent Pillow. I’m here today to share that tutorial with you!
You’ll Need: A flat surface, blank pillow case, tacky glue, and sequin trim
I make all my no sew pillow cases out of inexpensive canvas drop clothes. I share the process in my Geometric Heart Pillow if you want to check that out!
The designs can be anything you want, but I’ll share how I created this particular design as a “basics course.” 😀 Using a yard stick, run 2 lines of tacky glue straight across the lower portion of the pillow.
Instead of cutting the sequin ribbon right up the the edge of the pillow case, leave a quarter inch overhang for later.
Using the yardstick again, run two lines across the middle and upper portions of the pillow case. Press strips of sequin ribbon onto the glue.
In between the lower and middle and upper and middle sections, free hand fun zig-zags and press sequin into the glue.
Run glue along the outer edges of the pillow and press sequin ribbon into it.
Here’s how things should look up to this point. You’ll have all those bits of sequin trim hanging all over the place. This is good! The outer ribbon of sequins will help hold the edges of the inner designs down.
A pair of kitchen scissors will cut the excess of with ease. Just cut right up to the outer trim to protect the edges of our fabulous designs.
Once the glue dries, it’s ready to hang out with a crowd of other DIY pillows!
It’s not the most irritating of pillows to lean up against. I’m sure you know which pillows I’m talking about. The ones coated in beads and other hair pulling devices 😉 But, it is just a decorative pillow, so it’s not meant to be a “cuddle up and watch a movie” kind of pillow.
Thanks so much for having me! I’d love to have you over at the For My Love Of blog anytime! I’m decorating and improving my first home with my husband and little one. I love bohemian decor, but our home is Mid Century, so I’m documenting the journey of blending the two on my blog. I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial!

I was wondering how you found the patience to sew down such perfectly even lines….glueing instead is a great trick. I love the Moroccan feel of your cushion. I just restarted my Make it Monday Party and would love for you to stop by and share your project. Hope to see there! (There’s even a giveaway)
Isn’t Corinna from For My Love Of so creative! Thanks for the invite to the party 🙂
