I decided to make a wood candle holder I’ve been eyeing at a favorite store of mine. It makes the perfect gift!
I started with wood balls from the craft store and large wood doll heads, since they have flat bottoms.
I used a drill bit to drill a whole all the way through some wood beads ( some already had holes, some didn’t depending on the sizes you get). I then used a 1 inch spade bit to carve out a hole in the 5 larger doll heads, which is where the taper candles will sit.
Next, I figured out the pattern I wanted and started threading the wood beads onto a long strand of leather I already had on hand. You can buy them at the craft store. Once they were all on I just put a knot in each end and voila!
Plus as a fun surprise there’s a $180 GIVEAWAY!! Be sure to enter then check out all of the other handmade gifts in the hop.
LOVE this idea! It’s so creative. I wondered how it sat flat – good to know the doll heads are flat on the bottom. 🙂
SUCH an awesome idea Leigh-Anne and it turned out perfectly! Absolutely brilliant!
What a great idea! I’ve seen the wooden balls used for ornaments, but never as a candle holder. Thanks for the inspiration!!
