Hey Hey! Hope you had a fantastic weekend! I dog sat a friends sweet little puppy and spent some time at the Mall with my 12 year old daughter. It’s all decorated for Christmas, which is my favorite time to be at the mall. I’ve been trying to keep plugging along on our dining room. I tend to get the base of a room done and then pulling the last 20% of decorating done gets pushed to the back burner. What can I say, I have a short decorating attention span 😉
I started with this galvanized metal shelf. My son used to have it in his room but he didn’t need it anymore so I decided to see where I could re-purpose it.
I spray painted it white and then used Gold Leaf on the visible screws. Then added a few kitchen and dining things to pretty it up!
I’m 100% certain things will get moved around and added to this shelf as I find out how it can best serve us. Isn’t that what decorating a house is all about? Pretty + Functional? I love it!
The rest of the dining room has a few updates to. I’m still working on the dining table makeover, so only the bottom is painted right now. I’ll have updates on that hopefully in the next couple of weeks. We did add those gorgeous tufted chairs I mentioned. I also added some white paint to a stool we had and a little gold leaf.
I love this lamp I found a Target over a year ago. I never could find a lamp shade that looked great on it. So, I used gold leaf to paint the top and added an Edison bulb. I love how it looks now even without a shade!
I’m really digging the industrial glam look of this shelf. Do you have any unusual shelving choices in your home? I’d love to hear about them!
I’ve got a few more things to complete in this room:
— Large frames/artwork on the long wall
— Find a rug that can stand living under my table with a husband, 3 kids and two cats
— Refinish the Tabletop
Love it!!! It’s amazing what something as simple as paint can do! Of course, your decorating really sets it off as well. 🙂
The power of paint never ceases to amaze me! LOVE the white and gold Leigh Anne!!!
I love utility shelves. I almost don’t want to tell my friends how cool they look in a house because I want all of them that show up on craigslist! Cute decorating! Looks great!
Just love how this simple update made such a big change. Looks awesome, lady!!
Such an awesome idea and it looks fabulous! Great work, Leigh Anne.:)
Thank you!! Who knew Painted Utility Shelves could look so good, right?
I know you said you were feeling “meh” about this but it looks great! What really makes it is the styling, which was done so well!
Thank You Bre!! Styling is the most fun part!!
Looks great, Leigh Anne! Love the gold & white and the styling!
Wow, that is a great update! You really made it look like it belongs in a dining room with the great paint and gold leaf updates, and the awesome styling!
