You know, it’s a weird time for me and the blog. Our old house was completely finished when we sold it. I never shared but we even DIY renovated the entire kitchen ourselves. So, to be in a house where basically no space looks how I want it to look yet is hard! It’s not exactly what you come here to see is it? Or would you like to see more of the process? I can share the in between as much as you want, but what I really want to do is be grateful and appreciate where I’m at in the house right now. And right now, it’s ugly LOL! But Fall is my absolute favorite season and I’m going to enjoy it! I went out in to the backyard one morning this week and started clipping beautiful things for a gathered fall tablescape.
Eventually, after clipping way too much, I had everything I needed for a little centerpiece. I also had an anniversary bouquet (16 years y’all!!) that I used for the table too. I just gathered everything I had for decorating a table and went to town. Most of those things went back into the cupboard and a lot of clippings got thrown away and this is what I ended up with. A beautiful gathered fall tablescape. These things don’t have to be overly complicated. I love what I created and enjoyed the process.
I found these amber bottles out in the adobes when Joel and I went for a ride last week. They were full of dirt so I brought them home and soaked them outside and they cleaned right up. I love how they look here! The little square wood salt vessel was a gift from a friend with J.Q. Dickinson Salt from good ol’ West Virginia in it.
The gold spoon/fork and the gold candlesticks were yard sale finds for about $3 – doesn’t have to be expensive or perfect to be beautiful. Embrace the imperfection and where you are right now. A couple pumpkins from the grocery store and dollar store candlesticks were also cheap and on hand.
The black stainless steal flatware can be found here. Joel actually bought these for me as a birthday gift, a setting of 8 and I was totally surprised. He’s the best gift giver! He always makes me feel special on holidays and special occasions, every day really. I have so much to be thankful for this season.
I hope you’re enjoying this Fall, no matter where you find yourself in it friends. Happy table decorating!
Beautiful Tablescape . I love the fall colors also.
I thank your table complements that room, have you decided to keep or replace it?
One of the main draws to your house was that it’s a blank canvas for you. A very large one that is going to take a little time to get it how you want it to look. You’ve just moved in, it will start to come together.
I personally would really like to see the process. Sharing the in between could be part of the grateful appropriation of where you are right now.? Even if it is ugly! LOL! (I don’t thank that it is.)
Looking forward to seeing the in-between process.
