Home again, home again.
We have been on the road a lot these past few months and still have a couple short trips over the next few months. I’m not complaining though, we have a good time. We got home late last night and I am T.I.R.E.D. I thought I’d share this little wooden arrow I made a while back.
These are easy to make and you can vary the sizes and shapes. I used leftover 1/4 inch plywood from our board and batten. So far, I’ve left mine the natural wood but who knows, I might stain it later or make a chalk finish paint for it. Not sure yet. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a bit of a scatter brained DIY’er/decorator. I’ll get my act together soon 😉 Quick, easy and FREE wall decor for the win!
Here’s what I used:
Trusty yellow miter box
I cut my long piece to about 4ft. I didn’t really measure, I just went with what felt right. Then I cut 6 pieces down to the same size (again, I don’t remember the length, just eyeball it depending on the size you want) but at a 45 degrees angle. Then I fit the angles together how I wanted them to look, just play with it until you’re happy. Next I added some liquid nails and sat some heavy items on the arrow to let it dry. This way the smaller pieces won’t slide off the longer piece.
This spot at the top of our stairs is getting a little makeover. See that brown on the walls? This entire stair well/hallway is that color. The entire living room was also this color. Ick. This will be the FIRST thing we’ve done upstairs the whole year and a half we’ve lived here. I know. Isn’t everyone like that though? The rooms that are seen the most get attention first. This isn’t true for our kitchen. It was ugly when we moved it, we cook in it every day and it’s still ugly. Say it with me, one thing at a time. One thing at a time.
Got any small spaces that you’re sprucing up? I do like quick and easy projects. I have DIYADD 😉
