Turn Your TV into Art

How to Turn Your TV into Famous Artwork

Hey Hey! I’m still working on the living room/gallery wall. I’m feeling a little uninspired in this room. Decorating funk. It’s because I hate our sectional. *sigh* Ah well, we’ve all been there. Hate your furniture but no budget for a new one. Meh. Anyway today I’m sharing a fun little trick I found for turning your TV into a work of Art. How cool is that?! This is just another awesome way to disguise your TV if it happens to be the focal point in a room through no decorating fault of your own It’s an App called Artkick … Continue reading

TV Gallery Wall Inspiration

Art Gallery Wall Collage

Hey y’all! Today I want to talk about gallery walls. To be more exact, TV gallery walls. I showed you all my painted fireplace last week and the gallery/TV wall hanging above it. I love watching TV. Like seriously, we binge watch and mourn shows when they’re over. But I hate the huge TV looming over the living room when it’s NOT on a show I love. Don’t even get me started on the cords I have no idea how to conceal… This gallery is BORING. It needs an update like yesterday (and some of my frames are still empty … Continue reading

Living Room Progress: Painted Fireplace

Painted Fireplace After 1

Hey y’all! HAPPY FRIDAY! This week has been busy, long and (mostly) productive. Hope yours is going well and that you have amazing plans for the weekend! We are meeting an awesome friend for dinner and haven’t really penciled anything else in. I’m hoping to hit some yard sales though As you know I’ve been updating our boring living room over the past week or so. I just finished painting the fireplace. And here’s a refresher of what it looked like before: I love it all crisp white! Before it was very lightly whitewashed by one of the various owners … Continue reading

Painted Votives using Sharpie Paint Pens

Painted Votives Using Sharpie Paint Pens

Hey y’all! Have you seen these Sharpie Paint Pens? They are so awesome! Very versatile and easy to use. I picked up a couple (Gold & Silver) from Lowe’s for around $7. I played around with them on a few things then decided use them on glass. They are oil based so I assumed it would work and it did. I had a few old votive candle holders (clearance Glade Christmas scents, ha!) that I thought I could reuse.  I put gold dots on two of them and a herringbone pattern on another.   I just free handed it, not … Continue reading

Living Room Style Board with Roomations

Living Room Style Board with Roomations

Disclaimer: I received free product and compensation for this product review but the opinions stated here are 100% my own.   Hey y’all! Hope your weekend was the best!!! With the hallway makeover done I was really itching to get started on another room in our house. I’d like to go for it on our living room. I painted it (Martha Stewart Driftwood Grey) a few months after we moved in but since then it’s just sort of sat there undecorated. I recently refinished a Moroccan side table for this room and painted some Swiss Cross curtains. I do have … Continue reading

Painted Swiss Cross Curtains

Swiss Cross Painted Curtains graphic

Hey y’all! Today I’m sharing my DIY painted dropcloth curtains with you lovely people. I love the Swiss cross design trend (some people call it plus sign trend). I decided to make a DIY stencil and paint some imperfect Swiss crosses/plus signs on my boring dropcloth curtains. I love how they turned out!     (Sorry for the weird picture. These huge windows are hard for me to photograph)   I still had plenty of black paint (Valspar Paint + Primer color matched to Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black) left over from my gallon that I’ve used in the dining room, … Continue reading

Moroccan Side Table Makeover

Moroccan Table After 3

Hey y’all! Hope you had a fantastic weekend. I worked on lots of projects, good things are coming. I just love a productive weekend. Sometimes that feels better than a relaxing, lazy weekend. I know, I’m weird. Today I want to show you the finished Moroccan side table I gave you a before shot of last week. Remember it looked like this:   Now it looks like this: I thought it was beautiful before I did anything to it. Now I think it’s just a show stopper To be honest though, it’s not the vision I had in my head … Continue reading

Moroccan Side Tables

Moroccan Side Table Roundup

Hey y’all! Hope you are having a great week. I’ve been busy, busy with a few upcoming projects. Good things are happening! We are enjoying summer around here and soaking it all in. My kiddos only have 1 month left before school starts back. And this year my 4 year old, Sophia, starts Pre-K. Exciting and terrify and life changing! Anyway a few weeks ago (okay, it was a month…) I posted this little Moroccan Side Table on Instagram: I fell in love with it and it was FREE!! It’s actually pretty big compared to similar tables I’ve come across. … Continue reading
